Andrew Gamble
Lead Estimator
Andrew has worked in construction for 20 years. He originally qualified as a joiner and has developed his skills over time to also encompass hard & soft landscaping. Prior to becoming our lead estimator Andrew was our senior contract manager for 3 years. Due to this, Andrew has an excellent understanding of rooftop system installation and design; this leaves him perfectly placed to provide great advice, making him the ideal partner for your project.
Will Thompston
Site Contract Manager (SMSTS)
Will has worked in construction for many years and gained valuable experience in civil engineering, joinery and roofing. Before he joined Urban Roofscapes he led teams in a hybrid supervisor/working basis. Recently, Will qualified to SMSTS level and now manages in a non-working capacity. Will has excelled himself many times over by successfully delivering work to a very high standard. A project of note is Cornbrook Road for ISG. This was a £1.5M package that required a large degree of collaboration and management, both internally and externally to execute our clients desired outcome. Will’s efforts ensured this project was a great success.
Will Lee
Commercial Accountant
Will joined Urban Roofscapes not long after the business was formed and has gained knowledge & experience working across various departments. During this period, he has shown his adaptability by assisting in estimation and procurement while also performing his main role in finance. As the business has evolved, we have employed people to focus on their own area of the business. This has enabled will to focus on finance and take commercial responsibility for projects analysis and reporting. Will has worked in finance for 10 years and is a qualified accountant but recently wanted to solidify his standing by entering the Chartered CIMA pathway which will further his development to Master’s level.
Mike Gamble (snr)
Operations Director
Mike has over 40 years construction industry experience. His career in construction started as a general landscaper and over the past four decades he has amassed an extensive knowledge of hard and soft landscaping. Mike has worked as a contract manager for many years in multiple businesses. He achieved the position as Operations Director in his mid-50's and continues to hold this position. Testament to Mike’s desire to continue his development, he recently achieved an NVQ L7 in Senior Management in Construction. During his career he has been responsible for delivering some of the largest roof garden schemes across the UK. Some notable schemes such as; Downtown in Manchester (6000m2 of roof gardens); Macallan Distillery (14,000m2 green roof); Edinburgh Sick Kids Hospital and Cornbrook Road, Manchester (circa £1.5M scheme)
Michael Gamble
Managing Director
Michael has almost 20 years construction industry experience. His career in construction started as a landscaper before retraining to become a joiner and setting up a small business in the process. In his early 30's Michael moved into a sales-based role within the construction industry before securing a technical sales & estimating position for a leading green roofing company. During this period, he also worked in Design and Operations culminating in securing a role as Commercial Director. Five years ago, he setup Urban Roofscapes and has worked diligently to drive the business into one of leading companies of its kind in the UK.
Philip Shovelton
Procurement & Logistics Manager
Phil started his career with Urban Roofscapes as a general site labourer. Having come from a planning background, it wasn't long before he started to display his talents in procurement. He successfully completed a 12-week trial in the office two years ago and continues to increase his knowledge and experience. He has become an integral part of our project management team. Over the last 12 months Phil has been a key part of our delivery process for some of the largest schemes Urban Roofscapes has completed. He is process driven and very diligent when organising logistics to fall in line with our programme of works.
Nicole Lee
Sales Administrator
Nicole is responsible for administering all sales activities and seeks opportunities for our sales team. She manages our pipeline and ensures all quotes are backed up with regular communication to our clients. Nicole is also responsible for ensuring the company’s accreditations are up-to-date and completing PPQ’s.
